Annex III: Accessibility of the built environment where a service is provided
service provider · subject kind service · Annex III
In order to maximise the foreseeable use in an independent manner by persons with disabilities of the built environment in which a service is provided and which is under the responsibility of the service provider, as referred to in Article 4(4), the accessibility of areas intended for public access shall include the following aspects:
How to satisfy it: Conditional on the national option in Article 4(4): it binds only in Member States that have decided to extend the Directive to the built environment. Where it applies, it covers areas intended for public access that are under the service provider’s responsibility.
No harmonised standard is cited in the Official Journal under this Directive, so the Article 15(1) presumption of conformity is available to nobody. EN 301 549 is harmonised under Directive (EU) 2016/2102, the Web Accessibility Directive, and not under this one. Conformity is demonstrated against Annex I directly.
