What is the Legalithm EU AI Act WordPress plugin?
Legalithm – EU AI Act Compliance is a free WordPress plugin that adds the EU AI Act transparency duties to your site: an Article 50 AI disclosure notice, machine-readable marking for AI-generated images (Article 50(2)), an Article 4 AI-literacy checklist, and detection of the AI tools installed on your site. It also lets you disclose per post that text was artificially generated or manipulated, which is the Article 50(4) duty on deployers. What the plugin does
AI disclosure (Article 50)
A clear, accessible notice when visitors interact with an AI chatbot or AI-generated content. Four styles, twelve languages.
Mark AI images (Article 50(2))
An invisible watermark in the image itself and in every generated size, so the marking survives re-encoding, resizing and format conversion. Always explicit, never automatic.
Disclose AI text (Article 50(4))
Declare per post or page whether content was AI-generated, or AI-drafted and reviewed by a human, recording who reviewed it and when. Machine-readable provenance is also written into your JSON-LD, which goes to the Article 50(2) marking duty.
AI literacy (Article 4)
A short staff training checklist with a dated completion record, so you can show you addressed the literacy duty.
AI-tool detection
Scans your site for known AI chatbots and content tools and suggests the matching disclosure. Nothing is switched on without your confirmation.
